**What You Can Expect**

The Field Service Engineering Tech (FSET) is responsible for providing highly visible onsite and remote technical support within their assigned regions for Zimmer Biomet Surgical Devices. This role is responsible for handling, maintaining, installing and providing support for said devices, as well acting as a key player in complaint investigations, including troubleshooting with on-site Zimmer Biomet representatives in the operating room. Texas Instruments is seeking an Engineering Technician Intern to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for technical functions in support of product development lab engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication, assembly, characterization, functional validation, and electrical analysis of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, specialized test equipment, and/or IC devices. You will use test and diagnostic equipment, schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts and/or defined plans to perform operational testing, checkout, and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Engineering Technicians will also conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work as well as maintains lab processes and documentation in accordance with IATF 16949.

The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a Certificate or AAS degree program in Electrical Engineering Technology with a thorough understanding of vacuum, RF, AC/DC and digital electronic theory, and the ability to assemble, disassemble and reassemble complex mechanical assemblies, are desired. Work may involve repetitive motion and some heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs).

We have an immediate need for a Lead Engineering Technician on our Test Services Energies Team- Shift 3 to support our compressed air, vacuum system, and fuel delivery system for turbine engine testing. The systems include large machinery such as centrifugal compressors, refrigerant air dryers, desiccant air dryers, cooling towers, pneumatic and water valves, natural gas heaters, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), electric motors, pumps, and various instrumentation.

Work hours are from 9:30 PM until 5:30 AM (shift 3).

Applicants must be a U.S Citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key Responsibilities

+ Observe all OSHA and Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

+ Monitor and operate Compressed Air and Jet Fuel delivery systems.

+ Conduct periodic maintenance on large air compressors, air heaters, cooling water systems, refrigerant dryers, pumps, motors, and related equipment.

+ Maintain equipment maintenance and repair records.

+ Perform troubleshooting, equipment repairs and support contractor efforts.

+ Develop strategies to continually improve energy systems operation reliability and cost savings.

+ Troubleshoot with PLC ladder logic and MMI computers.

+ Need to pass a Powered Industrial Vehicle Forklift test and Aerial, Scissor, Boom, Manlift test.

+ Must be able to safely operate power tools.

+ Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds with some bending and twisting required for maintenance and repairs.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-8, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of DoD, US Air Force, and MAJCOM/FOA installation mapping and facilities record management concepts and principles including CONOPS, data architecture, program goals, etc., knowledge of industry digital spatial and geospatial data standards, knowledge of functional work area disciplines, to include Civil Engineering and architectural design and construction; Land surveying including monumentation and control, cadastral mapping, and describing terrain through surveyed spot elevation, points and break-lines; Air operations including airfield management, obstructions, planning and control, etc, and knowledge of communications infrastructure with an understanding of government contracting procedures and a comprehension of locally contracted engineering activities. Interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations, and recommend timely and economical solutions. 3. Skills in terrestrial or three-dimensional mapping, drafting, surveying, data management and photogrammetry methods and techniques, including GIS data editing, cartographic design/map composition, traditional and remote surveying, and geographic analyses. 4. Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management and Sustainment Management Systems, system capabilities, economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access). Ability to manipulate data using macros and formulas, pivot tables and charts, perform data analysis, and build effective presentations. 5. Ability to lead efforts, plan, and work with others to establish priorities, build business cases, perform according to metrics, and to comply with laws, regulations, policies, and precedencies to positively affect the program. 6. Ability to develop and deliver training in instructor-led and on-the job training environments to allow various Knowledge of AFIs, practices, and procedures pertaining to CE operations and ability to research, analyze, functional users to effectively utilize program capabilities.
