This position reports to the Associate Dean for Comprehensive Care on the Mesa, Arizona campus. The Psychology Clinic in the Therapy Institute at Midwestern University is excited to be accepting applications from qualified applicants for the position of a part-time, 0.6 FTE, Clinical Assistant Professor with primary responsibilities to oversee and supervise student training within the psychology training clinic. The individual selected for this position will provide direct supervision to student trainees and provide some administrative support at the clinic. This role also provides unique opportunities to collaborate with other healthcare professions within Midwestern University’s healthcare clinics to provide comprehensive health care. Based upon the applicant’s experience and interest, there are additional academic opportunities, including teaching a course, collaborating on research, and serving on dissertation committees within our APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Program.
The Midwestern Psychology Clinic
The Midwestern Psychology Clinic supports clinical training needs of psychology graduate students within our Clinical Psychology Program. The clinic offers traditional outpatient therapy, psychodiagnostic evaluations, and brief assessments. The psychology clinic also provides consultation- liaison services to other Midwestern University health clinics though brief behavioral health consultation to patients in family medicine, speech language pathology, physical therapy, and other Midwestern University clinics.
Specific Responsibilities

The appointment can be tenure-track or non-tenure-track. Rank will commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will be part of a 4-person team involved in delivering the farm animal component of the DVM curriculum. The duties will include clinical duties, teaching, and research & scholarly activity.

The Animal Health Institute is comprised of the Large Animal Clinic (LAC), the Necropsy and Pathology Center, and the Companion Animal Clinic. The LAC is a large animal teaching facility housing small herds of cattle and horses. This facility includes a clinical skills teaching laboratory hosting a variety of large animal simulators and models, arenas, and live-animal indoor and outdoor teaching and treatment areas. The LAC farm animal clinical service is comprised of a haul-in outpatient clinic and an ambulatory clinic serving the Phoenix Metropolitan area. The caseload includes small ruminants, cattle, pet pigs, and camelids. There are opportunities to do poultry if interested. After hours clinic coverage is limited to university-owned animals when needed. The LAC is fully equipped with onsite and portable ultrasound machines, portable radiographic machines, endoscopy, laser, and other patient-side chemistry analyzers. The farm animal service is supported by other services including anesthesia, surgery, veterinary diagnostic lab, clinical pathology, and microbiology lab. The adjacent pathology center and companion animal clinic are state-of-the-art facilities. Pathology includes a 5300 sq-ft necropsy floor, gross pathology teaching theatre, fully equipped histopathology laboratory, an 800 sq-ft BSL3-capable necropsy suite, and 1200 sq ft of classroom/teaching space. The Companion Animal Clinic is a 111,000 sq. ft. modern and innovative veterinary hospital for small animals.
