**Description:**

This is a position for an experienced engineer, providing innovative, thorough, and practical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with limited oversight. The proficient use and application of technical concepts, practices, and techniques is expected. You will be expected to execute the design and system integration tasks at a high level, manage a project specific multi-discipline team, and actively take ownership of projects you are assigned. You will be provided with tools required to succeed, including access to more experienced engineers, and training on industry standards, codes, and software that will facilitate and drive the requirements of your work. The M.C. Dean E&C Electrical Systems Engineering team provides comprehensive, fully integrated engineering services and management to the Engineering and Construction Division, in specific support of the Operations Team and the execution of construction. As a member of the team, you will participate in all aspects of system design and construction, including preconstruction and estimating, design and engineering, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC/BIM), and electrical construction. You will actively coordinate with, and may actively manage the design of, other building systems provided by M.C. Dean, including telecommunications, electronic security, fire alarm, and electrical automation and control. You will also be exposed to all aspects of construction and expected to coordinate your work as required with other trades, such as architecture and mechanical/plumbing.

**Essential responsibilities and activities** include but are not limited to:

1. Originate, execute, and check the detailed design with very limited supervision by Senior Engineers, including the design or integration of the following:

1. Normal power medium and low voltage distribution systems.

2. Emergency power generation and distribution systems, including UPS.

3. Coordinate device locations with other trades, including mechanical, plumbing, or other (Architectural, Lab, Medical, Kitchen, etc), including interpreting equipment requirements.

4. Interior and Exterior Lighting Design including lighting controls & layouts. Ability to perform lighting calculations

5. Project specifications for all equipment and installation methods.

1. Perform and check analysis of electrical distribution systems, including short circuit, overcurrent device coordination, arc flash, cable pull, ductbank heating, etc.

2. Documentation of design work via AutoCAD and REVIT in 2D and 3D platforms.

3. Originates and checks project equipment and material specifications.

4. Originates and checks basis of design narratives.

5. Perform constructability reviews of design.

6. Field verifies existing conditions as necessary.

7. Provide support of construction activities, including but not limited to, responses to Requests for Information, review of project equipment quotes and submittals, and technical support of operations management.

8. Mentor less experience engineers.

9. Manage the design process for project delivery.

10. Assign and manage tasks for design projects.

11. Manage project support and deliverables as the Project Lead Engineer on technically complex projects.

12. Perform quality control check of work product you provide, and work by others.

13. Travel to work locations as required.

14. Participate in or lead design, operations, and owner/architect/contractor meetings.

15. Efficiently communicate design intent to others, must have good ability to defend design decisions.

Job Description

The Junior Counselors (NFWS) will work as part of a team supporting the traditional ground campus at large enroll qualified students to attend. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

Obtains complete and accurate patient demographics, insurance plan and benefits information, and ensures treatment authorization is secured in advance of the scheduled procedure while maintaining a minimum accuracy rate on reviewed accounts as defined by departmental standards. Verifies patients’ insurance coverage, eligibility, and Point of Service financial obligation for all scheduled services, and documents the system in detail. Adheres to all third party payer requirements for both government and commercial payers. Determines insurance eligibility and coverage, obtains/confirms authorization to avoid non-compliance and penalties to the patient, health system and physician. Communicates current Medicare requirements, HIPAA compliance and reimbursement criteria. Collaborates with Case Management to ensure patient status is correct and documentation is provided to insurances as needed. Creates and/or updates hospital account. Obtains and enters into hospital information system required patient demographics and insurance information in a timely manner after procedure is scheduled. Documents all information according to departmental guidelines. Provides feedback to supervisor on changes/updates implemented by insurances as obtained. Contacts patients to verify demographic information and to perform financial counseling prior to time of service. Collects patient responsibility due, provides information on payment plans and financial assistance as necessary. Follows department and network policies concerning discounts, package rates and basic financial assistance. Responsibilities Job Summary Under moderate supervision, obtains complex financial information regarding patients from various sources, notifies insurance companies and assists with obtaining insurance authorizations. Handles and tracks payments, special package plan agreements, financial assistance paperwork, ability to obtain Medicaid applications, alternative financing, and verifies coverage from other third party payers in a variety of hospital settings. Utilizes effective collection activities to secure payment for balances on inpatient and outpatient accounts. Assists Supervisor with the monitoring of patient financial issues and audits registrations regulatory forms for accuracy daily or by shift. Accurately updates financial and demographic information into the Star Navigator Registration system. The Patient Financial Counselor works in partnership with staff members and other departments as needed to pro-actively identify and provide for the customers' needs. Addresses complex financial issues; explains the financial policies. Pre-screens all financial information obtained from verification programs to determine patient’s point of service amounts due. Assists with the completion of the financial assistance documents, and assists with the application process for Medicaid coverage Performs daily follow-up on unverified and pending accounts; initiates contact with the patient/family regarding possible resolutions on account issues, to include personal visits, telephone contact, and written correspondence. Works with the DES office or vendor to assist in fulfilling the AHCCCS application. Makes sure that all regulatory forms are completed and signed, in a timely fashion Obtains/encodes information into the patient registration system of all pertinent demographic and financial information. Reviews insurance verification and or eligibility for compliance on all accounts and verifies and obtains benefits for those accounts not previously done. Determines cost estimates, calculates patient charges and reviews insurance eligibility notices, collects co-payments, package plan agreements, deposits towards liability, and past due amounts. Responsible for adhering to all third party payer requirements including Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, Blue Cross and commercial plans. Maintains proficient level of knowledge regarding current federal regulations including but not limited to: DNV requirements, EMTALA provisions, HIPAA, and reimbursement criteria. Maintains required accuracy levels as designated by the Business Office Director. Must keep current with proficiency requirements via the Healthstream system. Keeps management abreast of all unique situations and problem accounts while identifying opportunities to improve work processes. Demonstrates skills necessary to work in an area other than primary responsibility, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary health care team to facilitate and ensure patient satisfaction and the maximizing of reimbursement. Attends in-service and departmental meetings in order to enhance team building, patient communications and relations skills, and updated reimbursement knowledge.
