About Phoenix Job Corps Center

The Phoenix Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

Responsibilities:

+ Curriculum Development:

+ Design and develop an engaging, relevant, and up-to-date curriculum for the Safety and Protective Services CTT program.

+ Ensure that the curriculum aligns with industry standards and prepares students for successful careers in safety and protective services.

+ Instruction and Training:

+ Deliver comprehensive and hands-on instruction to students, covering a range of topics such as emergency response, public safety, conflict resolution, and physical fitness.

+ Facilitate practical training exercises, simulations, and drills to enhance students' skills and readiness for real-world scenarios.

+ Mentorship and Guidance:

+ Provide individualized guidance and mentorship to students, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.

+ Serve as a role model for professionalism, integrity, and dedication to the field of safety and protective services.

+ Assessment and Feedback:

+ Conduct regular assessments to measure students' progress and identify areas for improvement.

+ Provide constructive feedback to students, helping them develop the necessary skills and competencies for success.

+ Collaboration:

+ Collaborate with other instructors, staff, and external partners to enhance the overall educational experience for students.

+ Participate in programmatic meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

+ Industry Engagement:

+ Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and changes in safety and protective services.

+ Foster relationships with local employers and industry professionals to enhance students' access to job opportunities.

+ Safety and Compliance:

+ Ensure a safe and secure learning environment by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

+ Familiarize students with safety procedures and industry best practices

Qualifications

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Public Safety) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Relevant professional experience in safety and protective services.

+ Teaching or training experience is highly desirable.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Passion for mentoring and guiding young individuals toward success.

+ Knowledge of industry-specific tools, technologies, and best practices.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load to ask for necessary assistance.
