Be part of the APU Project Engineering team, within Honeywell Power Systems, developing APUs for commercial and military applications. You will be the technical leader and be the primary decision maker for work package cost, schedule, and design issues. The successful candidate must be able to apply their experience and knowledge of systems engineering, gas turbine engine development, and strong project engineering, to serve as the single point of accountability for engineering work scope and execution.

Key Responsibilities

+ Own the overall system-level integration activities like APU performance, operability, acoustics, reliability, mantainability, and system safety.

+ Lead system level customer compliance efforts, including composing similarity reports, analysis reports, and military certification reports.

+ Ensure contract deliverables (SDRL’s) are delivered on-time.

+ Engages and leads internal cross-functional teams, including engineering, business management, airworthiness, customer support, quality, integrated supply chain, etc to ensure success of projects being worked.

+ Regularly provide status to and coordinate approval with Honeywell’s customer.

+ Function as project manager, estimating budget, schedule and staffing forecast.

+ Function as APU design owner in support of supplier transition and product cost reduction projects.

+ Travel to the US and/ or internationally - 10%

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

+ At least 10 years of demonstrated experience leading engineering teams in a dynamic multi-functional environment

+ Due to export control regulations, this position requires US citizenship status.

WE VALUE

+ Project engineering experience with APU products (or other relevant complex mechanical systems)

+ Experience leading or executing successful development efforts for an APU (or other complex mechanical system) is a plus

+ A demonstrated track record in managing complex projects

+ An understanding of business objectives and more importantly the ability to interact with our customers

+ Effective communication skills and ability to manage a cross-functional team in a matrixed environment

+ Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.

+ Program/control account management skills

+ Work with functional leaders to prioritize resources and implement project objectives.

+ Demonstrated Earned Value Management skills
