Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. Candidates who are able to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L will be most fit for this position. If you are a self-starter with high attention to detail, you will be a good fit for this Accounts Receivable Clerk position, which handles 200+ invoices a week. This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Glendale, Arizona area.

What you get to do every day

- Sort out payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP

- Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment

- Promote, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization

- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans

- Communicate information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders

- Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers

- Complete a wide range of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks

- Corroborate documents and codes Requirements - AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred

- Microsoft Excel experience desired

- Proficient in ERP systems

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

- Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
