Responsibilities Job Summary The Document Management Specialist is responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing all mail, departmental correspondence, attorney requests, and scanning all information as appropriate to patient accounts through accurate and timely application. The Documentation Management Specialist processes cash received by the couriers, provides an accurate count of monies to be deposited, and distributes supplies to departments. Processes department mail or Lockbox documents and distributes as necessary to the corresponding individuals or areas. Distributes any live checks to leads for scanning and distribution. Retrieves and responds to all email inquiries in a thorough and timely manner. Processes cash received by couriers for deposit. Maintains, processes, and retrieves scanned images including all correspondence and links them to accounts within hospital EMR. Audits all images for accuracy and quality. Retrieves and processes attorney requests in a timely manner. Including distribution of IZ and other requested documentation to the requesting attorney in a timely and secure manner. Documents the appropriate account with request information Stays current with knowledge for HIPAA, Federal regulations, state regulations, hospital policy and reimbursement criteria. Attends departmental meetings and presents information as necessary in order to enhance communications within department. Performs and or responsible for other related duties/projects as assigned or requested. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED Required Experience related experience Required
