**Where You Will Work **

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you’ll engage in virtual collaboration as well as attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix or at one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

**Description**

Category Management responsibility for global logistics and transportation operations, planning, strategy, metrics, logistics service provider contracting and relationships. The position involves all modes of transportation both inbound and outbound shipments domestical and global involving multiple regions of the world. This position will lead a global team of logisticians / transportation experts to ensure uninterrupted support of company operations and sales using a 3PL/4PL strategy.

+ Work directly with the Director, Logistics and Transportation, Global Supply Chain.

+ Lead the logistics and transportation team in absence of the Director, Logistics and Transportation.

+ Lead and develop a professional team of logistics and transportation employees including Transportation Managers reporting to this position as well as their respective teams.

+ Serve as a global logistics and transportation technical expert / advisor for the company

+ Manage global logistics and transportation planning and operations for the Production, Cu Sales, Climax Molybdenum, Global Supply Chain, and Projects.

+ Create, develop, and manage short, mid, long term logistics operations and plans.

+ Develop short-, mid- and long-term logistics and transportation infrastructure requirements to meet company needs to adapt to changing market conditions, and public / private transportation networks.

+ Facilitate and collaborate with internal and external teams to identify company requirements, source service providers, and develop strategic relationships and alliances.

+ Create and maintain a working partnership with strategic service providers in the logistics and transportation category / commodity. Ensure partnerships bring the best safety, service, value, and commitment to support Freeport-McMoRan.

+ Analyze data, develop contract strategies, and lead contract negotiations.

+ Manage and provide governance over the Logistics and Transportation Teams contracts management process.

+ Manage contractor risk management, compliance, and safety.

+ Utilize transportation industry cost management and performance metrics to measure performance to adapt to changing regional, national, and global logistics transportation markets.

+ Compile market research data, inclusive of economic analysis for historical trends along with projected logistics and transportation cost models to ensure competitive pricing.

+ Analyze, negotiate, and develop large logistics equipment leases and purchases to support transportation operations as needed.

+ Seek continuous process improvement to streamline logistics operations for the betterment of the business.

+ Process owner for logistics and transportation management systems.

+ Maintain competencies in emerging logistics and transportation market tools and capabilities.

+ Educates and informs on trends in the logistics and transportation market and how they impact company operations.

+ Prepares information for leadership to inform and make decisions on logistics and transportation operations, spend, and investments.

+ Prepare and present market/contract analysis on assigned commodities to GSC senior leadership.

+ Ownership of the functional procure to pay processes for logistics and transportation categories assigned.

+ Perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ High School Diploma/GED **and** eleven (11) years of experience in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field; **OR**

+ Bachelor’s degree **and** seven (7) years of experience in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related field, **OR**

+ Master’s degree **and** five (5) years of experience in supply chain and/or contract negotiation/development

+ Knowledge of or SAP Transportation Management System experience.

+ Knowledge of transportation procure to pay process.

+ Knowledge of warehousing and distribution operations.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related field and seven (7) years of experience in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related field, **OR**

+ Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of experience in supply chain and/or contract negotiation/development.

**Criteria/Conditions:**

+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
