Smyth Industries Electrical Division is currently searching for an individual with Water Infrastructure Industry experience as an Electrical Technician to help enhance our current team. We provide full-service electrical, civil, manufacturing, engineering and general contracting services for the water and reclamation industry.

The ideal candidate will foster teamwork and create a positive work environment in a fast-paced industry, while helping our Arizona clients engineer, rehabilitate, manufacture and construct water distribution and treatment infrastructure.

In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in the water and reclamation industry by:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Exhibit technical knowledge and experience in the electrical trade.

+ Exhibit the ability to project materials needed to complete assigned task.

+ Provide effective project communication, both orally and in writing.

+ Develop a team relationship with other divisions.

+ Ability to thrive in a team environment and work with other division.

+ Complete nonroutine task as

+ Knowledgeable with blueprint drawings and/or project specifications documents.

+ Mentor field staff to develop ways to more efficiently complete assign task while building a strong team environment.

+ Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.

+ Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.

+ Reassemble equipment, using hand tools.

+ Ability to select tools to complete daily job tasks.

+ Proficient in the use of basic hand tools to perform daily job functions: screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, cordless drills, hand operated saw, level etc.

+ Install conduit (pipe or tubing), PVC, IMC, or rigid steel conduit underground or above ground .

+ Knowledgeable with wire terminations

+ Proficient with the use of test equipment such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and ammeters to check the circuits for proper connections, ensuring electrical compatibility and safety components.

+ Install coaxial or fiber optics.

+ Ability to lead a team, complete project assigned tasks, while working under minimal supervision

+ General site clean-up, digging trenches, staging material, or all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

+ 1-5 years of electrical trade experience

+ 1-2 years of experience bending and installing above, and underground conduit required.

+ 1-2 year of experience installing junction boxes, wiring devices, and control panels required.

+ Demonstrate the ability to reference information from the NEC.

+ Self-motivated, task-oriented, leader

+ Required to possess a valid driver's license and legally be able to operate a company vehicle.

+ Working knowledge of OSHA regulations

+ Required to pass a preemployment drug screening.

+ Must be able to physically perform all required duties which may include bending, lifting 50-pound objects, carrying 50-pound items, squatting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, working outdoors most of the time, or standing for prolonged periods of time.

+ Required to wear company supplied Personal Protective Equipment.

+ Applicant should be comfortable work around industrial equipment.

+ Knowledgeable reading and connecting field wiring using ladder drawings.

Preferred

+ Prior construction experience.

+ Experience leading coworkers.

+ Strong knowledge in water and reclamation construction

+ Speak Spanish
