Senior Automated Machine Project Manager

Kforce has a client looking for a Senior Machine Automation Engineering Project Manager in Tucson, Arizona (AZ). The Company designs and manufactures automation machines and equipment for the Life Science, Aerospace and consumer industries. We are looking for candidates in the nationwide willing to relocate to Tucson. Once again, the position is in Tucson. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager.This role is currently 100% remote and will switch back to an office environment when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.Responsibilities:

* The Senior Project Manager works in all aspects of the business, assisting in the development of proposals to our customers which meet their assembly system needs
* Serves as the point of contact for the customer through the design, build, assembly, debug and installation of the equipment
* Mentors and leads the project management team to achieve customer satisfaction through quality, schedule, and relationships
* Understands customer specifications and objective of the project
* Establishes and executes the project within the customer time requirements
* Responsible for the quality and commercial success of projects
* Responsible to ensure financial success and profitability of the projects
* Provides bi-weekly project status reports to include schedule, resources and budget to the management team
* Provides regular status reports and conduct project meetings with customers
* Manages scope through the change order process
* Responsible for requesting project invoicing and tracking payments
* Responsible for the overall commercial performance of the delivered system
* Develops customer relationships, and develops long term partnerships


* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or similar field or equivalent experience
* 8-12+ years of experience within the machine and/or equipment automation industry
* Extensive experience managing projects relating to automation machines and assembly equipment
* Knowledge of hardware and software components such as robots, grippers, load cells, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems and lasers
* Previous experience with PLC programming is preferred
* Experience with the design of and/or project management of automation equipment and/or machines for the Life Science, Aerospace and/or consumer products industries is highly desired
* Superior organizational skills
* Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally
* Strong customer relation skills
* High speed assembly experience (cycle times of .5 to 3 seconds)
* Preference is for strong Systems Engineering experience
* Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time
