The Machine Operator 1 is responsible for operating assigned equipment on a daily basis. This position will become an expert for all assigned equipment, including operating and conducting preventative maintenance. This position works closely with the production supervisor to ensure production flow and KPIs are on track for all projects for their assigned station.

Responsibilities:
• Read and understand standard operating instructions for machinery. Train on various procedures, including proper start up, shut down, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Set up and operate machinery daily.
• Read and understand manufacturing drawings, part lists, job aids, and other technical documents.
• May be required to utilize computer-based programs that interface with equipment.
• Performs in process quality checks and sign offs. Tracks all quality issues at assigned station in Excel or current tracking software.
• Completes preventative maintenance as assigned.
• Maintains communication with co-worker and supervisor to ensure production flow and quality outputs. Discusses issues with supervisor in a timely manner.
• Ensure working environment is clean and safe. Perform daily cleaning duties at assigned manufacturing station.
• Ensures assigned work is on track to meet production goals and customer commitments. Discusses concerns or issues with supervisor in a timely manner.
• Looks for continuous improvement opportunities. Initiate and communicate ideas for process improvement.

Qualifications:
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a Team Player.
• 1-3 years of related experience or general knowledge of machinery.
• CNC Hot Wire machine experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to read technical documentation such as manufacturing drawings, specifications, work instructions, etc.
• Quality and safety focused. Strong attention to details.
• Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• This position requires extended amounts of time standing, walking, and lifting. Ability to hold, push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
